Hi my BEAUTIFUL friends and family!

CHANCE Foundation is having a Wine Tasting Event in August. I was wondering if anyone wanted to join the event? It would be fun and for a great cause.

I will be volunteering at the beginning to set up but really wanted to try this as I’ve never been to a vineyard and thought it might be a fun experience. Tickets can be bought right from the Chance Foundation website noted below. Please feel free to forward this to anyone you think would be interested in joining this event, donating and item or helping out.

Take a look at the website for more information.

— Funding from the wine event will go to:

Dovercourt Recreation Association (DRA) (Ottawa, Canada) which is a not for profit charitable organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the community through recreation programs. Chance Foundation partnered with DRA in 2017 to fund a new program, the Best Chance Program. This Program allows social workers from DRA‘s referring agencies, to offer sponsorships for upcoming programs upon receipt of the application, allowing families to plan ahead, Dovercourt to increase programs based on demand and more underserved children being accommodated.

In its’ first year, the Best Chance Program, gave out $4,370.15 in funds, with an additional $1000 in applications to be processed. The major users of the funding were Carlington, Pinecrest-Queensway and Somerset West Community Health Centres, who serve the challenged populations we hoped to reach. Most of the funds were used for winter, March break and summer camps. In addition, it was also used for several swim lessons, fitness memberships, an art class and family pottery. In the words of John Rapp, the Executive Director of DRA, “One of the great things about this funding is its lack of limitations. We have been able to help all types of people (children, families, disabled) gain access to a very wide variety of recreation programs.”
